Shipping info/FAQ

There are several shipping methods:
FEDEX ground is one of the cheapest method of shipping fishes in the one and 2 day range.  See map below
Below is the 2 day range in the blue range
Anything outside the blue or red zones require overnight shipping or same day air cargo.  I strongly recommend going the aircargo method.  The fishes will arrive the same day if you went that route, and often would be a cheaper option than use other land carriers.

All fishes required to be fasted for a few days to minimize waste in the bags.  Bags will be used with pure oxygen and heatpacks (if required).

Southwest is my preferred aircargo carrier (popular among many fish businesses)  Buyer pays actual shipping cost, a box of fish could start around mid to upper 50's. Adding a second and third box would only push the ship cost up to around 60'ish for 2 boxes or 70'ish for 3 box (best savings).

What is pre-order?

Pre-order is making a fish order ahead of time when the importer just recieved his new stock from Africa or other sources.  The importer then send a new list to all of his clients and we would often grab the fishes before they are gone.  This is the best opportunity to grab something that don't come around very often, sitting for sale for days or weeks, it could be gone within the first few hrs after emails are sent out.   I strongly recommend discussing with me about what kind of fishes you want to aquire: I can tell you what may be avail and what may not, accourding to my past fish list i have recieved and a ball park figure.  However, if you are interested to grab a nice colony, a deposit will be required within 8 hrs of announcement, as I have to put money down to hold it.  The deposit is refundable until I place the order.

Shipping will be added on top of the fish cost.  Last shipment averaged 33 a box of fish, plus 8.50 per box charge made by the importer.  Fish are sent via aircargo to Seatac airport, sometimes in the evening.  Customers have 2 choices: Pickup at the cargo facilities ( I will be present) or meet at my house afterwards (Everett)

However, anyone who orders fish must come to get the fish the same day it arrives. I have no extra tank space to house em.  They go straight from the bags the importer packs em in, into your tank.   Simple as it.

Wild vs Farm raised fish:

Most cases, wild caught fishes look better than farm, but there's plenty of good quality farm fishes.  Shoot for the F1's (fish come from wild parents) for better savings.  Wild do cost more since shipping cost to send fishes from africa to the US is expensive and risky (dead fish are not guranteed).  Wild caught fishes do hold thier value well, and most hobby would seek wilds if they can afford some.

One advantage  about wilds is they are pretty much breeders.  You can probably get more $$back from the fry of wild parents than raise tank raised juviniles.

Why I don't do South American fishes?

This is my personal opinion, I like the looks of african due to better varieties of color and size. Many don't get real big, most grow to 3-8" average sizes.  The amount of fry could be in the teens to something like 30-40, depending on the species.  African allows me to mix many different kinds of fish in a single tank, making a really colorful tank.  As you know, you may hear africans are pretty agressive.  This is true, but agression goes down with more fishes in the tank.  I like that option since it give me a chance to look for more varieties.

However I have taken interest in wild exotic plecos, you'll be seeing I will stock these fishes in my fishroom for the coming months.

Aquabid

Personally I think this is a great site.  Lots of great hard sought after fishes you won't see at Petsmart, Petco, Walmart, and many local fish store.  Take a look at it, many has great pictures and soon you'll be addicted. You'll get to learn the names, the market prices and such..  Now that you learned the going market prices, you'll understand how my fish are prices accordingly.   Keep in mind, shipping isn't cheap.  This is one reason I have put together this business to better serve the Seattle area by getting the fishes we sought after at a lowest possible shipping cost.  More fishes order combined together brings cost down.
